Default T-top canvas replacement

Hello all. My t-top canvas is done. I was thinking about using thin sheet aluminum instead of the expense of a professional replacement (snap style). Any thoughts or other ideas? I live in San Diego by the way.

I used this product to redo mine three or four years ago http://www.alumapole.com/alumarinemain.html. Did it myself in a day in my driveway. I don't have any good photos of it but it was not difficult to do and is easy to clean and maintain.

The quotes I got were all much higher than your's, kind of made it a no brainer to do it myself. I have a rigid vinyl top now that should last a minimum of ten years. The cost to me at the time was about half what they wanted to do a cloth top and I only had one day of down time. I see yours looks like it snaps on around the edge, you couldn't do that with this vinyl. I didn't notice that initally.

Do you mean the same vinyl that goes on seats etc? How long has it been on and how is it holding up?
Thanks guys.

How does black canvas hold up anyone? Any issues? I would prefer a color change.

No, it's rigid vinyl, it's nearly 1/8th inch thick, comes in a roll. Can be bent in a break like aluminum coil stock.

According to Glen Raven Mills -- maker of Sunbrella -- black is their most durable color; least fade, best UV resistance. longest life.

Red, Yellow and Purple fade worse than all the others

Thanks man....that material seems pricy, plus shipping and install. I think I'll go with canvas. I doubt I'll have the boat long enough to worry about doing it again.
