Six daughters...make it a 30 footer with two heads! Good for you. That has to be a fun household.
If you coveted a Scout, keep looking. I wanted one for years, and finally found exactly what I was looking for used on Craigslist. You have boating country north and south of you so keep looking around. I found an older hull, garage kept, but it had been repowered with a newer engine. So its fairly reliable, excellent shape, and was less than $10k. With your price range, you can find a good boat.
Here are two for sale not too far from you:

Again, good luck!

Thanks. I'm all over the page. Never a dull moment in our household. But it is fun.

I was having similar choices for Lake Erie and think I've settled on either the Sea Chaser or the Sea Hunt.

However, when I was considering the aluminum, I looked at many, and I would have gone with Alumicraft. They are really well built and can take a lot of punishment, very versatile too. Cabela's has a good representation if you have one close.

Good luck

Good deal. I am likely to go with the TRACKER® Pro Team™ 175 TXW. Can't do all that I want, but it does the most important-fish. Going to the dealership in the am with the wife for one last look. I hope I am making the right decision.

Good luck with your choice as well!

Default Finally!

Okay all, I just closed on a new Triton 18 Explorer w/115 Merc. I decided that I can't get away from my Tn roots, so I went with the Bass boat. Not the biggest or fastest, but it is new, under warranty and mine. I will see how it goes. Can't get all of the girls in it, but i got the "OK" from the wife and she likes it far better than the Tracker.

Thank all of you for your advice and for putting up with me and my varied tastes.
