Andy, good info, thanks (I have a Yamaha 225 on my boat)

Star Tron is very different than StaBil or SeaFoam or any other fuel additive.

First of all, it uses enzymes - nobody else has that. Secondly, it's not "just" for Ethanol fuel. It was making an impact long before ethanol was forced on us. It is a multifunction additive, meaning it will stabilize fuel, but it will also remove gums, varnish and carbon deposits, disperse water from fuel to help prevent phase separation, clean injectors or carb jets and actually improve fuel quality.

It is on the EPA's list of fuel additives - you have to be a fuel to make that list. You don't want to add anything to fuel that is not a fuel or you risk taking the fuel out of spec, affecting its viscosity or worse. At the same time, you don't want to add ethanol (alcohol) to E10 fuel, because while alcohol is a fuel, adding more of it to E10 will just turn it into E15 or similar. Adding more ethanol to E10 is not a great idea. You should look at the MSDS of any fuel additive before you add it to your fuel tank. You can use Star Tron with any other fuel additive.

Because the enzymes allow fuel to burn more completely, Star Tron reduces emissions and helps prevent the formation of carbon deposits (which are caused by unburnt fuel)

We've done free sample offers before here on THT (we believe in THT and back it up by buying banner ad space). Maybe it's time to do it again... If we do, I'll post a new thread. Please - do not send requests for samples until/unless I do!

Andy, great info, thanks. Probably a dumb question, but do you think
e-10 could be causing the corrosion issues for the early f225?

If you are referring to the exhaust corrosion, the answer is no.Hot engine exhaust and salt water.

When I have taken down those engines here(freshwater) those parts look new except for the black carbon soot. Feel/look like a chimney cleaner after that.
