Default Intrepid 40 CC...beautiful...less than 36 GW ?

just read article in Boating about the 40 Intrepid CC.....as expected, it got high marks for qual, ride, design...

3xF350 yammies....WOT 65mph...cruise 40 ish...1.1 mpg
I have a suspicion that the price in the mag is NOT correct...

"price with test power"....$323,000 +/-

read a test of the GW366 CC.......with 3xF350...price as tested $450,000 +/-

doesn't sound right...no way a GW 36 is worth more than (let alone as much as) a 40 Intrepid........

I'm pretty sure the grady 36 canyon is a center console. It has a birth in the enlarged console but it is not the express.

the intrepid is an all out beast compared to the gw, (i do like that berth in the GW though!) ride quality and economy will be a major difference. Im sure prices will be similar after rigging of the intrepid, especially the electronics and tower i would have on her!

The beauty of Intrepid is the ability to customize. The price quoted is likely the base boat plus the engines. Your imagination and your wallet are the only limits beyond that.

For instance, my 2009 32' Cuddy with 300 Verados had a base price of $166K. Add in a list of options (for example: side dive door $7K, white gel coat $2400, swim ladder $664, rub rail with stainless insert $1735, electric head $2566, Fiberglass T-top $10,500, etc) and you quickly add 25% to the base price. Then you need to throw in electronics and install.

Intrepids are pricey, but no questions asked customer service is priceless to me.
