Default Grady White 247 Advance CC

Anyone out there with opinions on this boat Am considering one with either a Yam F225 or twin Yam F115's. How is the ride, soft, dry, following sea etc. Any comments would be welcome.

I spent 20 years in GW'S. If the price is right buy it. 1st class boat and company..

I hope I don't start the GW war again.

Thank's for your input, but what I am really after is the seakeeping ability of the new ('92+) Sea V2 hull design. I've fished on my brother in law's older 25 sailfish years back ( before the redesign) and thought it was a little rough in head seas, and wallowed a little in following seas. But it was a solid, stable boat. In all fairness, I'm comparing it to a 24.5 blackfin, a 23 regulator, a 26 regulator, a 34 pacemaker, a 30' blackwatch, a 27 seacraft, a 45 hatteras, a 37 topaz and a 50 Ocean. Perhaps I'm being too critical, or maybe a sea trial is in order. Guess I answered my own question.
But any input from someone who has, or has been on the GW 247 Advance would be geatly appreaciated

That boat needs at least 300 hp. Preferably in the form of twin 150's. That is a very heavy 24 footer. Your two choices are going to leave you dramatically UNDERPOWERED!

Besides, I'm getting tired of GW's always following in my wake!

I own a 2003 257 and there are a least a couple of guys on this board that own the same boat. Although the 257 is slightly longer and configured just a little differently in the transom area I would think the ride would be very similar. I love the ride in a head or following or beam sea. Don't have any complaints other than the normal "you're going to get wet" in the right conditions on any CC boat. Probably a wise investment to buy some curtains. I just repowered my boat with twin 150's and think the ride has improved from my single F225. If I had any complaint with the single it was in a following to quartering sea where the stern would jacknife a little. I haven't had this problem at all since repowering. Not sure exactly why other than the possiblity of the additional weight in the stern or the drive over a wider area than a single. All I know is the ride has only improved and it was good before. Don't know how this boat compares to the others that you are looking at. Just know that it is a well built and good riding boat that will last and hold it's value and bring you home in some rough weather. Good luck and email me if you have any questions. Jim
