Yep, the truly great ones were deleted in the great server migration of 2000-something.

oneill

I think it was actually "while doing the T-top Spider was hit by a BEAVER."

I posted the following in the "other thread" which Gerg mentioned in his original post, which was the "Urgent Call....Boaters Missing" thread, which took a bunch of nasty turns in its last days (it's closed now; how strange.)

Anyway, one "bumster" suggested it must be a record for length and maybe viciousness. Not close.

Bumster's post:

We're not all just gonna get along i guess. 32 pages of ass kickin back and forth has to be a record even here. lol

My post:

I seldom say "noob," but, hey, Noob, not close. Not even freakin' close.

The most recent real poster child for this is the infamous "41 Luhrs" thread (http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...ighlight=luhrs) where the opening post sort of set the tone, and hard as it is to believe, it was all downhill from there.

ORIGINAL POST which leads to an over 2177 posts thread, 110 pages: " 41 LUHRS BUYER BEWARE
I OWEN A 2005 41 LUHRS AND IT IS THE BIGGIST PIECE OF FLOTING S_ _ T!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN REACH ME BEFORE YOU BUY I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT MY NIGHTMARE WITH LUHRS CORP BUYER BEWARE"

This is an exact copy of the original. And it probably ain't dead yet, there was a post less than a month ago.

Also nice is the "Danny's Cat" thread, which for pure viciousness, nastiness, closed-mindedness, etc., makes even this POS thread [referring to "Urgent Call"] and the POS speculators here look tame by comparison. (http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...ight=dannyscat) A paltry 58 pages and 1122 posts.

Going back, there are more and some older-timers than I can probably link some up.

YMMV

I suppose he did. Too damned bad he isn't back this way; I for one would give him a welcome slap and buy him a beer.

I really enjoyed following Gringo's blog thread about life in the Turks & Caicos, especially during hurricance season.
