I believe they just went down to 11 issues a year as a cost savings measure. I've been a subscriber for a couple of years (it used to be called Offshore magazine) and think they provide some decent information, features and reviews. They do a lot of articles on cruising destinations/marinas. I have noticed their ad pages have gone down substantially in the last couple of issues so the issues have felt pretty slim.
Greg, I tried to look online to read the article and it is not llinked....is there an online version?
Article isnt on line. I believe it will be in the Chesapeake Bay Magazine soon though too.
The magazine is a nice magazine and has some good features on different ports and marinas. They also tend to review boats that are popular or appeal to the Northeast.
Judge top-side layout was modeled more after the Cheaspeake Bay work boats combined with old the C-Hawk 29 but in a trailerable form according to Bill Judge. If I am not mistaken the older Steigers looked more like Parkers with the lower wheelhouse and step down into the cabin until recent years.

It used to be a favorite magazine of mine, but several years ago they changed editors and the entire tone of the publication seemed to drift aimlessly. I didn't renew.

I think the Steigers and Parkers are similar. It sounds like the Parker is also similar, what features makes the Judge better?
I am not going to say one is "better" than the other but I preferred the hull shape and layout primarily.
I love the level deck to the the helm with the open back and extended top. I can troll in nasty weather with a crew of 5 and have everyone out of the weather while we await a bite. Hull is also a warped plane hull and is 26'4" and easily powered with a large single. She is a great blend of ride, stability and economy. With the all woodfree construction, the boat is also light enough to trailer with a half ton truck.
