I'm not used to bimini tops but have one on my 18 footer. I like to keep it stowed in a forward radar arch position (using forward poles) but at times, particularly when crossing another boat's wake, I get a lot of sway?
Are there any tricks to reducing this sway other than grabbing onto it to stabilize it?
I have seen were people wrap it up together with velcro or maybe you can find a way to strap it down towards the front. But it is designed to flex a little so unless you really drive like a maniac shouldnt be too big of a deal
On last boat, I would restrain the closed bimin top with a couple of bungee straps attached to the radar arch. If you dont have an arch, you might be able to add some additional anchor points for the supports to attach to.
If the boat is a center console somtimes you can have a diaganol brace
like tour forward legs or make two straps come down to the center of the
grabrail on the console Is your frames aluminum or stainless
s
smaller boats I recomend aluminum as they e a 1/3 the weight of stainless
