Shelf life of Duratec Gray Surfacing Primer??

I have an almost full gallon with a 10/08 manufacturing date on the can. Plan on using it for a final coat on a live well plug I made last weekend for the final polished coat before i wax it. The paint hasn't hardned and still looks fine just have heard stories it has a short shelf life??

I believe the stated shelf life is 120 days. I would be pretty leery of something that is 2 years old regardless of what it looks like. What's the sense of jeopardizing the work you've already done by using really out of date material? I would spend a few dollars and buy fresh Duratec.
