I just ordered my new F300 through Andy's website! I can't wait! $9,999, delivered to your door.

Seriously, it is great to see Yamaha competing in the high HP V6 arena. Lighter than the competitions 300! Sometimes waiting is worth it! Now if it will just perform like a Yamaha, reliability wise (historically), they may have a homerun!

Very interesting. I wonder/hope if it is putting out at least 300hp? I also noticed no V6 200. That leads me to assume they have something else for that HP planned( I4 200 based off of the F150 I hope). Also interesting to me in that it holds 1.5 quarts less oil than the Suzuki 300. Probably an insignificant fact but who knows... I do wish they would throw the SHO LU on all the big engines. Not only does it look cool but does have some benefits over the standard lower unit.

And someone asked how they saved 50lbs on the SHO version. I am pretty sure the short 20" vs 25" on the offshore shaft accomplished that.. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

so who's gonna be the first to put a set of these on the back of an earlier model contender 27 to see if 558lbs is too much????? I know 604lbs is too much. and i know 493lbs is just fine. some body do it quickly and post the results. my ox66 250s have 2153 problem free hours one them, but nothing lasts forever. come on, somebody's gotta do it.

I'd love one of these 300's on the back of my SeaCraft. I'd shave off nearly 300lbs vs my twin 115 Suzuki's.

C'mon DOW 12000!

I'm going to talk to my Yamaha dealer today about that exact thing to see if it will work. Any one want a set of 300HPDI with low hours with two new lower units? Complete with all controls, gauges, and oil tanks.

I *really* like the (almost) no-clunk when shifting option on these... but with anything else the new technology has risks...

Its a new prop and prop hub design. Nothing to do with the lower unit. I checked it out and it looks beefy. I wouldn't hesitate using them.

Can someone tell me if the holes on a two stroke 250HPDi can be used for the new F300 or will there need to be new holes on the transom? This for me is as important as the weight.....

Don't have that data for sure ......yet, but looking at the hot sheets the width of the cowling is 25". Same measurement as the current F250B. So if I had to guess, the center-line measurements for twins would have to be the same as the current F225-F250.

Mounting holes are standard on all large outboards no matter what make they are. Wish Andy would put some ball park pricing figures up if he has them available.

Now that is Kick Azz (Even if it is a 270HP w/ a 300HP cover). Yamaha is stepping up.

Given the unknown torque curve (cruise speed comparison), the F300 V6 should offer the highest top speed in the 300HP class. For the racers - chances are the V350 is still king, but for the fishermen - F300 v6 should be king.

Brett. There should be No reason why you can not sport quad F300 v6 on a YF 36. Why would you when there is V350? Give homesite a run for his money. He is buying lunch.

No one is asking about the bolt pattern, they are asking what he distance needs to be b/w the centers of said patterns so that the engines aren't touching each other.

Can't wait to see these on some boats...33 Inv, 33TS, 31TS, 32YF

Brett, everything being equal, i.e. 36 YF w/ trip 350 Yams and a 36 YF w/ trip F300, I would venture to say that the F300 set up may be as fast if not faster considering what I read on these motors, i.e. lightweight, speed, etc., plus better fuel economy. Also, you can't do quad 350 Yams on a 36YF probably so a quad F300 boat (probably doable) should definitely outrun a trip 350 yam boat. I would be interested to see how they compare real world numbers to a 300 Verado...exciting stuff!!

I hope they return to the ideas that made them great < Not the recent screw ups.

Andy,

I'm guessing you are watching the traffic on your site. Every forum I've checked that mentions the new Yammies has a link to your site....shrewd marketing. ....you stuck the .pdfs right on your retail parts page.

If the past is any indicator with new engine models, I would guess the boat builders. But Yamaha is taking orders from us(dealers), but actual shipping dates have not been exactly finalized.

As far as pricing, all I can post is MSRP. What any paticular one dealer would sell them for is up to that dealer.
