I'm on a BB, so bear with me. There are no windows in that cockpit. I am a commecial driver, a 100 captain, I have a bs in engineering, and I am a commercial pilot with an instrument rating. I have never seen a yacht or truck with an attitude indicator. With hundreds of instrument approaches I have always used a windshield to see the runway. In that cockpit there are no visible controls for the throttle or props. That is not a typical airplane cockpit. I have not been in a sub but I assume they must have attitude indicators. The attitude indicators lead me to believe it is a deep diving sub, but I have no clue since I have never been in a sub. That is why I asked. Don't act like a question is dumb when you don't know the answer.

Patrick,

Helicopter. It's an S-76 C+ instrument panel. The reason you don't see any windows is that there are no windows in the pic. You can see the "glare shield" very clearly at the top portion of the panel. If the glare shield was not there you would be able to see the windscreen.

Oh.... and it maxes out at 155 KNOTS and 700 lbs of fuel per hour.

I knew it isn't an airplane cockpit and I was just curious what it actually is. I've never spent any time in helicopters. I really appreciate the reply.

To keep this thread on topic, I can't take a picture while driving. Trying to hang onto a Carolina Skiff at 54 mph is hard enough.

Though I'm a little jealous of the S76, I can't believe they put that old autopilot in with that glass panel.

In a classic "mines bigger than yours" arguement, My Vne is 168kts. at about 475 lbs per hour. (A109E power)

Avgas weighs 6 lbs / gallon, Jet A weighs approximately 7 (a little less actually).

So he's north of 100.

Having gone very fast on land, air, and water....I will say that water has the greatest sensation of speed by far. 100mph on the water feels faster to me than 200mph on land.
