As many of you may have heard, last week a Coast Guard C-130 out of Sacramento and a Marine Corps Cobra helo collided off the coast of California. The C-130 was searching for a missing boater. All service men/women were killed. My brother is a C-130 flight engineer at that air station. He personally knew all the crew, he has had a hard time dealing with this, as well as the whole unit. Some of the crew left behind young children, one yet to be born. Their families are going through an extremely difficult time right now. As a former Coast Guard member myself and hearing the personal stories of these people, it has hit close to home. Not to mention my brother had a 1 in 3 chance of being on the plane. I don't know anything about the Marine Corps pilots, but my prayers and condolences go to their families as well. I'm posting up a link to help provide financial support to the surviving family members and also from the memorial service. As we are all boaters here, a reminder, if we are in trouble, they will come for us no matter what the conditions are. They put their own lives at risk. They have to go out, but they don't have to come back. I personally know that any support will be greatly appreciated by the families. Thanks.
