Why? Are you taking a survey? It will be a random case by case basis. Any pre-2009 36, 34 models may have issues with the high content of ethanol recently introduced into fuel recently in the market. The 31s (I believe) always have had aluminum tanks, as well as the 32s. Every boat that comes out of YF post-2009 has aluminum tanks.

The important thing to know is that YF will, for a reasonable price (as this ethanol thing is no fault of YF) repair the fiberglass tanks affected as best as possible considering the realities of doing such a thing.

Guess that defines being asked if taking a survey, need to pardon the over reactive product supporters. Sounds like you have a last cut off still with old style tanks or maybe it had been a year earlier model never sold then updated to a 09.

The hull is branded as a 2009,The bad part is if Wylee or Richard had told me that there were some 2009 yellowfins with fiberglass tanks out there i would have done some more home work, but every person i have talked to including the factory has told me the same thing all 2009 have aluminum tanks. And the thing that upsets me the most is i talked to richard at yellowfin on the phone and he still can not tell me what kind of tanks and how much fuel capacity.i emailed Richard and Wylee and no response, I always thought yellowfin was a top notch company ?

Try again, everyone that runs those boats down here has seen them bend over backwards to make customers happy. We all get busy and miss an e-mail once and a while.

I can see a fight brewing between the YF cheerleaders who are deeply offended that anyone, anywhere in the world would be so bold as to post a complaint about this perfect boat.

Opposing this camp will be the 100% hand holding crowd that believes the owner of a boat company should hop on a plane to personally fix any an all problems, no matter if the boat is 30 years old or not, from a burnt out light-bulb to a siezed engine (even if the engine is the repsponsibility of the engine manufacturer).

Get the popcorn ready.

You wont hear anything now till Monday anyways. Talk to Wylie (spelled like that by the way) when he gets back with you, he will not BS you about anything. I will say coming on a public forum and bashing the companies reputation when you haven't even discussed anything with Wylie yet is not a good way to get on his good side, but go about it any way you want to.

The way I read it, he has already contacted Wylie and was told that his 2009 boat is supposed to have aluminum tanks but it doesn't.

looking forward to an explanation.....i have a feeling it will be taken care of. At the very least u have multiple yellowfin owners on here, some who value their forum reputation, who will be on your side when it comes to resolving a dispute.
