This is my type of thread. Awesome planes and boats! Why don't they have a manual speed indicator and attitude indicator? I never have figured out why such expensive planes have those awful seat covers!

24/7 Never knew about the tanks durability till your post....I did have a tank replaced before Nationals in 05 and wondered how the fiberglass held up...and by the way bashers was not on a Contender....other brand..and have seen some of the KW,Sailfish etc. do the same...from the beating and banging we do.

Yall guys keep up the boat and plane porn nice pictures from all of you.

Respectfully,
Kirk

I will never fly IFR with a glass cockpit and no backup attitude and speed indicator. I've had an electrical failure in the cockpit and it caused a serious situation during a clear night.

Yeah.. I was just referring to the earlier glass panel picture. I would love one with that panel! Good luck with your boat!

UPDATE,I talked to Richard monday morning at YF,He confirmed that my 34 is the only 2009 model with glass tanks and also told me these tanks have a new style fiberglass resin that is resistant to the ethanol fuel and do not have the epoxy coating in the tanks & lids and should have no problems.

Steve,

I would like to first apologize to you if you felt you were mislead by anyone here. I do not recall speaking with you prior to your purchase of your 34. I apologize but I speak with a lot of people daily and it is hard to remember everyones name.

The first I heard about your boat was Thursday morning when richard asked me to run an id number. He was given that info and contacted you this morning. He was out of the office Friday. I went back thru my emails, and do not have one from you or I would have responded myself.

Your boat was built in August of 08, yes it is an 09 model year and i apologize if anyone gave you false information. We should have asked for an id number to confirm. We did convert to all aluminum tanks for the 09 model year with the exception of a few boats which your 34 was one of them. We had not redesigned the 34 for aluminum at the time of construction. The tanks in your boat are gen 3 tanks and were built 100 percent out of resin designed solely for ethanol fuel for in ground fuel tanks. Based on what we have seen in the field, You will have a lifetime of use out of your boat.

This issue has been beat to death, There are simple fixes for our tanks tat are really not that big of an issue, more of an inconvenience. We will always have people who want to jump on the bandwagon with their negative opinions and we will always have YF owners defending the brand that they are so compassionate about owning.

If you would like, we can discuss a trade of your current 34 on a new boat.
