Actually, doesn't make you look very smart... Sounds like there is a little more to this story that we don't know about as well.

Regardless of all that, seems like the factory will take care of any problems anyhow if there is an issue. Like Brett said, enjoy the boat and if there's a problem call the factory and they'll fix it.
I done my research by starting with the factory YELLOWFIN,let me make it clear WYLIE and RICHARD both told me a month before i purchased this boat that ALL 2009 YELLOWFINS HAD ALUMINUM TANKS I never doubt there imformation,if you can not trust the person thay builds the boat why would trust anyone else.Like i said before i am not bashing yellowfin boats ,i have owned about 30 boats and love the yellowfin but disapointed about finding the fiberglass tanks ,espcially after confirming with yellowfin there exact words ALL 2009 HULLS HAVE ALUMINUM TANKS....

I'm not saying you are (trying to bash them), and I'm not saying to not trust Wylie or any other company owner. What I am saying is that people make mistakes and that I always verify stuff with my own eyes.

There are lots of YF's out there with fiberglass tanks that are doing just fine. They are coated to resist ethanol and you will most likely never have a problem. Enjoy the boat and if there is a problem let YF take care of it. By the way which boat did you buy?

If you got a bad drug on the manufactures advise i know everyone here would sue.

If this accurate then YF needs to be more careful on there direction. Thats it. YF's are still great boats. The OP feels mislead cut him some slack.

OP, You will not win any sympathy from the YF crowd on this board,
Get ready to face lots of questions and resistance.
You may have to demosntrate you have voice recognition equipment to verify who you spoke with?

Dont falter, try to work it out with manufacture, if that is fruitless and you still feel slighted then seek counsel

Good luck.

The boat is a 2009 34 twin 350 yamaha, white hull&top,The whole issue started wednesday when i called yellowfin and talked to richard about the battery charger and to confirm the fuel quanity on the boat, this was wednesday nov 4th mid week ,he acted a little suprised when i started asking about the fuel tanks so i give him the hull id which he confirmed a 2009,He got my name and number and after no return phone call i sent a email to him wednesday afternoon, and by thursday no response called back he was buisy and then sent a email to Wylie and still no answer, I went to the storage building an started looking in the bilge area were the hoses come thru th bulkhead but no gaps to see so i remover one of the fiberglass inspection covers to verify and boy was i suprised.

OK, so you called Wednesday and then posted this on Friday. Wow....you gave them two whole days to respond before lamblasting them on a national forum. How nice of you......
At least give them some time to research production records, find out what happened, and come up with a solution.

You mean Nov 4 like 2 days ago? LOL! How dare he not answer your general email question in a day! In fact, I can't believe Wylie didn't respond immediately as they are supposed to be there waiting for questions so they can drop everything and respond ;-).

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that this was something that had been dragging on for a couple weeks or something.

Seriously?

I have not personally looked but is there not an easily accessible inspection plate over the fuel sender as well as the fill and vent connections? If you cant tell the difference between aluminum and fiberglass the hire a surveyor. One of my employees built his own fiberglass gas tank for his 17 Aquasport 5 years ago. He fishes every friday weather permitting. the tank was coated with an Adtech tank coating (epoxy) and he has never had a problem. I would bet if you counted all of the YF's with glass tanks you would see there are more without problems than there are with. There are also other issues as well. The gas pumps say 10% ethanol but if you buy an ethanol tester and do random testing, you will find some stations have a much higher percentage. Does that matter? Who knows. Also, who buys a boat of that calibur without a survey anyway, especially if you have prior concerns???

Arent you forgetting the fact that Yellowfin said ALL 09's have aluminum tanks when in fact they dont?

I dont think the lack of response is the overwhelming issue.
