3000 rpm 39.5 mph
4000 rpm 56 mph
4400 rpm 60 mph
5850 rpm 85 mph

So have you been able to reproduce these numbers????

I think there are 3 possible scenarios here:

Top Gear phenomenon: If you ever watch the show they test the heck out of hyper cars. Stuff an ordinary owner would never have the sack to try. Flat out in a Bugatti Veyron 16.4L, hard core racing a Ferrari FXX and running a Koenigsegg so hard the aerodynamics fail and the car goes off the track and crashes a million dollar car. They put a pro driver “The Stig” AKA (Michael Schumacher) behind the wheel to get the best possible performance out of these cars possible.

Theory #1 on this one is Homesite is a normal dude without 20 years of race boat experience, the reflexes of an Olympic athlete and a complete lack of fear to squeeze every drop of speed out of his rig and he would rather have the mystery out there than a slow run.

Theory #2 Based on getting passed by a Quad 350hp engine Yellowfin 42’ (I think) as speed increases the hull is lifting the stern out of the water and he is losing water pressure in the outside motors. When this Yellowfin went by it sounded like the outside motors were running dry exhaust and looked like they were fire hoses just squirting water at the wake. The fix is a combo of longer shafts and jack plates to keep the pressure up at high speed but they look goofy and therefore won’t go on the boat.

Theory #3 This is not his boat. If you notice the picture looks like it was taken from his neighbors dock. Or it is the same story as that guy who is mad about the quality of his dad’s boat.

My money is on a combo or #1 and #2

Again, I have no expertise on this subject, and that makes me perfectly qualified to comment on this issue.
