5500 rpm = 55 mph.... I dont look at the burn rate at wot
What props and engine height are you running. My 2005 26 classic with F225's at 4200 RPM is only 32 MPH. Also at 6000 RPM my top end is 50 MPH. I am running 19 pitch rev 4's and have the engines mounted in the second highest setting. Even with my original 21 pitch yamaha props my top end was only about 52 MPH very light.

2008 38 Fountain Sportfish Cruiser with twin Cummins Mercruiser sterndrive diesels (QSD4.2) with Bravo III outdrives - Cruise 41 mph @ 24gph (approx. 1.8 mpg). WOT is 52 mph. Range at cruise is about 600 miles.
You two guys in the fountains just are not playing fair!! LOL. 85mph in a fishing boat!!
I have been told I can get more speed by changing props, but I am not sure I really want to. I am pretty happy with the way it runs now. With heavier props will I gain fuel economy too at cuise? Or will the engines have to work harder to push the boat at cruise? I have never been one to start changing props around on anything, but I might consider this one. Thanks.

Stock props... Will check height again but I think they are mounted like yours.... You will lose top end with 19's so no big deal - but you should cruise a bit better......
Now if your talking full Bahamas fishing load - then yes - I run between 30 and 35 mph getting 1.3 mpg.... But regular load (3 guys 1/2 tank) then my numbers are what I get.....

The timid man yearns for full value and demands a tenth. The bold man strikes for double value and compromises on par.
What type of props did you have? I think it may be a weight issue? My WA is propably a little heavier?
But when I went out on sunday the tachs didn't go past 5k, no matter how I trimed the motors.
Anyone else have a Mako with twin 135s, just curious to see if anyone elses numbers are higher.
