going postal on THT. I guess it would drive me nuts as well. I hope the dealer and zuke takes care of you. This is why I will not buy a zuke. Next time go Yamaha.
Whats the deal with the Suzuki parts? I have heard this a few times now. The people that have the engines with no problems love the engines. But anyone with a breakdown seems upset that it takes so long to get parts.
I know they make a solid engine but that all means nothing if it breaks down and can't be repaired in a timely manner.
I don't blame this poster, I would be pissed if my new boat was sitting at a shop for months on in while I was making payments and missing water time.
This sounds more like a Suzuki issue than "Roberts". What is he supposed to do? If Suzuki doesn't have the parts, he has nothing to install. Curious what you want him to do for you?
This isn't the first time I heard a story about Suzuki and there parts or warenty. Someone in my area blew 2 lower units on his boat and they would not stand by the warenty. That sucks, never had a problem with my Yams.
Looks like someone learned how to copy and paste....4 threads with the same text...
Talk to suzuki and let em know how you feel, for a brand new motor that really sux and that's what I'd expect them to warranty me with, another brand new motor, hopefully you can get this worked out....
Best of Luck

I've had my twin DF 150's one year (new in 2008). They have been flawless. My dealer screwed me out of the Gimme Six warrantee promotion though. I appealed to Suzuki and they basically told me to pound sand. I thought about sueing in small claims, but ultimately just said forget about it.
Your story about Suzuki parts supply doesn't surprise me at all after the attitude I got from my dealer and Suzuki.
I hope mine don't ever break.
I almost bought a boat with twin Yami's, I now wish I would have.
Good luck getting your engine fixed or replaced. Please post the results or keep us updated. Hopefully one day manufacturers and dealers will pull their heads out of their asses. I gotta think people who read complaint after complaint on a board like this will put their $$$ into makes that treat their customers right.

The dealer is correct, the customer does have more pull - you are an idiot but thats the issue with Zukes = no parts. But think of how much you saved instead of buying an Etec, BRP usually has the dressed powerhead there in a week.
what the hell does that matter? They said they would replace the power head and no parts. I have heard this before about Zukes and parts. Thats why I will not buy a zuke and stay with Yamaha. The owner should be busting his butt or someone at this dealer to take care of this customer who bought a new boat. Dealers wonder why people don't like em. Why would anyone tell a customer to call the manf yourself as you have more pull with them?? Wow.
Simple, did he run them wide open from day one as he states he had two warped heads and then he took it to the dealer, did he overheat the motor?
Suzuki has already approved replacing the power head, good for Suzuki, but come on a brand new engine and two warped heads?
And the Mfg's do read THT [ Search there own products here ] so getting on here and being a butt head just makes it worse .

I've been happy with my Suzuki but I have a friend that bought a 150 and it had a problem with overheating during breakin. He did everything by the book and the engine was burning oil like crazy. After a bunch of fighting he got a new powerhead. The second one blew during breakin. Finally my buddy noticed that the cooling water inlets were put on backwards apparently at the factory. Engine ran fine at low speed but at higher RPMS it wasn't getting adequate cooling water. They replaced the powerhead the third time took the two screws out of the inlet cover turned them around and hasn't had a problem since. This whole saga lasted about a year.
If you cannot understand the anguish and helplessness that I am trying to convey, put yourself in my shoes. You buy a brand new boat, use it for three weeks and it's been at the service center for longer than you've owned it...with no definite resolution in sight. Four months is the projected time frame for when the boat will be fixed and there is nothing you can do about it but TAKE IT...you know where. As far as Robert goes, he was great to deal with when he was trying to woo me to buy the boat but as far as my boat getting fixed...it will not happen unless I am making the attempts to do so. Robert has done nothing and offered nothing. I would be ECSTATIC if he were to offer a loaner motor for the time being. I LOVE the Everglades 243 CC and some of you are correct in saying it is not an Everglades issue. The boat rides like a dream and instead, I dream about the boat. Also, i am new to the forum so please excuse as i am learning proper threading edicate.
For those who have not been around boating for the past decades........Suzuki has always been a notorious motor for not making break-in and going boom, since the beginning, with their larger outboards. If you do make it through break-in.....you are good to go. Many of the regional rep's (and dealers) also are notorious for trying to weazel out of warranty work, so beware the Suzuki dealer with the most awards hanging on their wall in the office. Yes and some people touched on the parts availability thing. To top if off, I even have known one dealer to sell used parts as new parts. Owning a Suzuki can be either a very bad thing or a very good thing, depends on a number of factors.
Don't want to bash the brand but there are better choices out there overall, looking at the big picture, all things considered.
I have owned 3 suzuki motors DT30 - DF150- DF200 All have preformed flawlessly, on the DT30 which is a 1985 i have never had issues getting parts, with the exception of small stuff,I buy it from Browns Point, if its out there...he'll find it. VC, if you want results..be a PITA, But be polite,no rants..call suzuki service EVERY DAY. and POLITELY inquire about your parts. Squeaky Wheel, call the dealer every day and ask...soon enough the parts will appear or a new motor. Did this to Honda..worked. I'll stick with Suzuki.

Give it up already.....how many of these [name your engine] Suzuki, Yamaha, Johnson..etc, etc suck stories are we going to have? Every motor has their supporters and their detractors and every brand has had problems. IMO every one of these engine suck stories should go right to the bilge!
