High build primer

I Have a whaler 15 that I'm working on and is almost ready for primer. But I need to get high build primer for some spots that I repaired . My QUESTION is, if I'm going to paint the whaler with awlgrip and I want to spray just the repairs with high build primer to cover some minor details do I need to use the brand awlgrip or can I use a regular high build primer?

Obviously I'll by using regular awlgrip primer for the whole boat, but for that part I want to save a $100 + on the high build primer.

I need to know this by tommorow morning if I need to so I can place the order if and have the primer by friday.

I dont know if you can mix the different brands of primer. Maybe just try a spot and sand down and see if its compatible. I just finished priming my boat with a high build and I think it was around 100.00 a gallon, so I don't know how much of a savings it would be..good luck
