Default Looking for 25-27' Custom Carolina Builders

I am planning a trip down to NC & maybe SC in a couple of weeks to check out some Custom Carolina builders and any used boats that are for sale. I am looking for a CC that is easily trailerable. I have been in contact with OBX, Blackwell and Calyber. If anyone knows another builder I should visit please let me know. If anyone knows of a used boat for sale pass that info on as well, I might even be interested in a project boat.

Thanks for all the help.

I would also check out Brad Knight at Onslow Bay Boatworks. We have actually just ordered a 23T and absolutely can't wait until the end of the year when we can pick it up!

Brad Knight, who is the owner of the company is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and will answer any questions you may have as well as take you on a demo. The demo was the icing on the cake for us.

I have for sale a 2007 23' Pro Line but I know you aren't interested in that type of boat. PM me if you have any questions about Onslow Bay and if you get a chance, check them out online. I think it would be worth your trip if you are coming to NC anyway.

Do a search under "custom carolina" in yacht world for boats under 27' and you will find about a dozen. Lots of no name builders down there with unfinished hulls.

GSP:

I'm a little closer to home for you and if you're considering a new build in the nature of Blackwell and Calyber, I'd sure like to discuss your requirements with you. You are welcome to email or PM me any time.

this is the rig you want. It has an unbelievable ride, greqt layout and ritchie builds one hell of a boat. Check it out and know theres an amazing deal to be had here. Ritchie is one of the best builders in north carolina and can always be reached to answer any questions about it. If you can find his number any where, let me know, i am good friends with him

I just made a run down to the Outer Banks to speak with several builders. Take a look at Harrison Boatworks. There is a 28 foot center console and a 39 Express for you to salivate all over. I expect if you call him he'll give you a sea trial. Pats a real knowledgeable person. Both boats are on his website.

Best of luck!

This would be a great hull to finish out. Probably change out the motor. Pretty good price on this 1979 refurbished Ricky Scarborough but I would think you could get it for less.Great builder..Mark

Might want to take a look at Tim Winter just outside of Raleigh. He has a 23 and 27CC that are beautiful.

There's one in Wanchese that specializes in 23-30' boats...I can't remember the name. Will see if I can find the website.

It was Bradley, already mentioned above.

I have a 3 year old 28' Custom Carolina CC built in Wanchese by Bobby Croswait. It has twin 250 Yamahas and is in excellent condition. It is currently for sale and located in Georgetown, SC. Contact me if you are interested in photos and details or to arrange a visit.

I am suprised nobody mentioned a Southport even though it isn't completely custom.

This boat is probably too big to trailer, so I think I'll pass.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have lots to add to my list Glen Bradley, Shearline, Winter yachts, Harrison, Leonard Rigsbee.
