Default installing Lee's T-Top / hardtop outriggers ?????

Bought a set of Lee's T-Top / hardtop outriggers to install on my hardtop, also bought the 5/16 aluminum backing plate for support. I'm still concerned that the torque from the poles will eventually cause stress cracks in the top. This type of mount sits on top of the hardtop and only the 4 bolts go through..does anyone have any experience with this type of rigger mount? I am considering installing the mounts so that 2 of the 4 bolts on the mount go through the hardtop alum. pipe, however, I know that there are wires running through the pipe on the starboard side. Is it a mistake to drill the hardtop pipe, wires or not?
Thanks, Dave

I spoke to Rupp and they said that you could bolt to a solid top, but when I checked with Grady White they recommended welding brackets to the hardtop frame. So nothing has been done yet.

thanks Greg...how would you weld to the hardtop frame if it's under the hardtop. I guess it would be something like a u-bolt coming up through the top????

Get some brackets welded on they definitely need some support. Better safe then sorry.
