Default Pursuit Denali 2460

Looking for comments regarding a 2002 Denali 2460 with Mercruiser/Bravo III. This boat is in pristine condition with very low hours(less then 125 hrs) always covered, always garaged. Looks like a good compromise for both fishing and family outings. Anyone with first hand experience pros and cons regarding boat overall and I/O setup? Thanks!

Love the design / layout. Had a ride on one years ago, but it was fairly calm, so really can't comment on rough water performance. Just can't bring myself to do an i/o if the boat is left in the brine. I have a neighbor with a Grady with an i/o an another with a Proline. Both re-powered within the last 2 season and while the drives still seem to function fine, the drives look like they are 20 yrs old, not 1 or 2. Then there is the bellows factor taking the boat down...

I would guess if you have a lift or trailer, why not. Keeping in the water- not for me.

I took it's bigger brother for a trip to the Abaco's last year and it beat us up on the crossing. I think it was the 28' Denali. Wet, pounding ride in 3' chop. I went with a friend on a 29 Jupiter and he had to keep waiting on me to catch up. ONE OF MY WORST DELIVERIES EVER.

I just bought a 2003 Denali 2460 with Volvo DP. So far love, lots of room, solid very good quality for what I see so far. The issue with I/O in salt water is true if you are going to keep it in teh water. I look at 15+ boats from 1995's to 2003. The boats that sit in the water take a beating that is for sure. The good ones I found we in barns or on the rack. I had always been a Merc guy and ended up with a Volvo, most people I taked to said either DS system is good.

As the the ride in 3' chop, yea the 2460 is not going to ride like a 27 or 29 footer that is give. Yet if you are drift fishing it's not going to rock and rool like a Grady.

Good luck in searching for th boat, there are lots of unbleavable deals out there and this late fall and winter should be excellant time to buy!

Good luck,

Monobill

I have a 1996 2470.........outboard......it has been an excellent boat......I'm not an I/O guy.....unless kept on a lift or rack stored..........as far as ride, I've had mine in some nasty stuff....learn to use the trim tabs and run a prudent speed and you will be fine.......it's not a 27-29 footer...........but it is a very well made boat.
