Default 2001 Yamaha 130 - Garden Hose Connector Question

I went to flush my engines using the garden hose connector and realized that my mechanic left the hose hanging free and not connected to the bottom cowling fitting as it should be. I have run the engines for about 4 hours with it like this. The engines still "pee" and they never over heated so I assume it is ok and this connection isn't used to cool the engines and only for flushing. Is that true? Could I have done serious damage it I didn't get an over heating alarm?

if it didnt overheat you are fine....the larger engines will tend to overheat with the flush connector left off but the smaller ones will run fine at times.....

My flush connectors terminate into a dummy plug, it's only purpose is to have a male plug to screw the flush connector into...are you sure that your plug isn't configured the same way...

The 150 flush hose does plug into a dummy dead end connector but if left disconnected will let some colling water out. On the 150, as long as the pump is good, there is enough pressure/flow to keep the motor cooled. You didn't do any damage.
