Default Lots of pics, 42 Yellowfin under construction.

Finally figured out how to post some pics, and wanted to share what is going on with the new boat. Anticipation is really hitting me hard this time.....

merc is about ready to announce gateways that will go behind the dash that will allow the engine data to be seen on your charptlotters - make sure you get this prodcut - releases in October. I should be running one next week. The part # that you will need is 879337K52. Also glad to see you got the vesselviews off the horizontal dash. They don't like it down there.

I haven't done outboards in a long, long time. For the performance I'm wanting, they recommended quad 300 Mercs. 350 Mercs were about 8k/motor more, available with less warranty, high test only, and I was told offered about 5 mph more than the 300's.

They made sense to me given those points.

Nothing against the Yams at all.

It's important to look good too, they don't come in high gloss black to match the hull.

If you are planning to only keep this boat less than 5 years, then ignore this post. I am assuming the above is gelcoat as I don't think Wylie paints his stuff....

But if you are, I would tow it to a good painter and clear coat the hull. It will stay like your pic above for 10 years with no maintenance except a car wash soap and a hose. Tow it to B&R autobody in Pompano. $100 a foot. Here's a fountain 34 he did:

otherwise you got a hulldetail every 4-6 months and that won't really do it either...

Holy Cow! That first pic really puts the size of the boat in perspective! What a beast and then some!

Glen, thanks for both of your suggestions. I will talk with Richard about both of them. Team Bella, your right on, 600 gallons of gas. Sparkybell, you made my wife's point about looks being important with the Merc's and the finish .
