I think you hit one of the nails on the head. Learning curve is steep, and exaggerated on rough days. This machine is so different from the express about the only thing they have in common is they both float.

Those were some beautiful vids Detour. When you get used to it you will love it even more. You will find out that the tabs are your friend and also the engine trim plays a huge difference in rid. You will get to a point where that bad boy want even spill your cup of coffee!

Congrats on your new ride! It sure is pretty!

It looks like we have about 4-5 days of 20 knot winds out of the north. If I can find a wild hare up I might give her another run and throw some trim tab in.

Very impressed with the performance though, 4 guys 500 gals of fuel and isinglass up to the gunwales and we still hit 62. She is nasty fast, and my neighbors say she sounds like a fighter jet when she is running fast.

Lotsa fun.
The tabs will make all the difference in the world on the 42YF when its rough. I have had my 42YF for a year now and I'm still amazed everytime I take it out. Please feel free to contact me if you have any question's about your new fishing machine.

Indeed!

On that note. It took me about 4 months to learn how to properly trim my boat between the trim on the motor and the tabs. Once you learn that, at least for me, it made all the diffrence in the world.

Yes, that and dont be affraid to go faster after putting them down. Yellowfins like to go fast and ride better the faster you go.

The videos were shot traveling between 35 and 40 mph. We backed down to 35 after I became uncomfortable with the barking of the engines. First time out in the herd of elephants, I'll keep moving forward. Thanks for your encouragement and advise on this everyone!

I am thinking of putting isinglass on my boat because next year if things get better I might become a hardcore tournament fisherman. The weather is always crap in those tournaments and I would imagine the isinglass enclosure would make life a little better running in 6' seas side on for 2 hours.

Here are a few pics of the glass for you.

And here is one of the dive ladder, it works better than I would have ever thought. Solid like a piece of military hardware.

I hope they show up well enough to help you out.

Is there anything else to the name "the office". Anything to do with the TV show?

I do a lot of work over the phone. If I get asked where I am at, I want to be honest....

I'm at the office.

Nothing to do with the TV show.

Here is a better look at it for you.

I opted for the roof rather than the tower. It was more important to me to protect the boat rather than have a tower for the few times per year I troll.

Thanks Rod, I have one more trick to install and then I'll be done. It is going to be my personal favorite though. A week or two to wait yet.

We just need the weather to cooperate a bit more this winter.....
