A year ago we were 51 miles offshore when my so got two barbs from a treble hook caught in his ankle. Both went in one side and went out the other.

It had kicked up pretty bad, white caps as far as we could see and a choppy 3-4. Were they exactly 3-4? I cannot say since measuring wave height is not an exact science and more a matter of opinion...so it seems. The white caps were in fact present and we do fish the "Cape Fear region" of NC known for snotty sea's.

He passed out; I put the boat on plane and we made it back to Masonboro Inlet where the CG had an ambulance waiting in LESS THAN AN HOUR.

A YF will haul butt in snotty sea's!!!

PS: Absolutely beautiful boat..congratulations.

24/7 thise seas look plenty snotty to me. It always looks better on camer and I see plenty of white caps. Looks like a confused sea.
yea usually they look less than what people say; i think they look worse on this camera shot....especially with all the spray kicking out and some on the windshield

I was driving north on I-75 today & saw a Black YF42 w/quad 350V's. If I'm not mistakened a black cummins was towing it. I almost side swiped a Mini Cooper while I was drooling all over my dash.

Anyone knows who it belongs to? It was going southbound just after the skyway. Boat looked sick! All blacked out

.

I wanted a YF since the first day I seen one in the water during a tournament years ago down in FtMyers. Since then I had a friend who had a 36 YF and I went 75 miles offshore with him one day, the seas kicked up a bit for the ride in but the YF still ran smooth. After that day I wanted one even more and IMO they are the besy looking cc made.

In my opinion I would defn have to agree YF makes the most beautiful boats!!! They do run extremely smooth!! Hopefully one day will be able to afford a 36 with trip 300xs's!!!! I love the blacked out look but it would suck to wash it all the time!!

That is one Bad Azz boat you got there Detour.(insert envious icon here)

I know you have picked a name for the boat, but a massive 42ft Weapon like that deserves a name like

Dixie Normous

Yeah, but that might be a tad too obvious for me, and should be apparent to most onlookers.....

Detour, your boat (soon to be) is absolutely gorgeous. I hope one day to own a Yellowfin, but mine will be more or the 23 variety. I'm sure I'm not alone is saying I get on THT ever night just to check for updates on this post.

As an engineer, I can truly appreciate the time/money Wylie puts in to these. I'm in the business of selling robots, but you just can't be a hand made boat IMO.

If you need a fishing partner in April, I'll be on Captiva for a week... let me know. I would say we could split gas, but that might be pushing it.. haha

Tight Lines!

Absolutely sick! I am hoping this is our next boat if things go well. Question, will your track vision be able to play on your garming monitors as well as the tv down below?? Would be awesome to watch ball games while running the boat!

My understanding is that it will run on the monitors, and the audio will play over the stereo. Football and fishing at the same time..... more than my simple mind is able to comprehend!

OK everyone, this should be the last dry pics of this boat until it comes home. Everyone is busy getting things ready for splash and delivery tomorrow. It looks like all of the pieces are coming together well. The only glitch on the radar screen, literally, is a communication problem between one of the black boxes and a monitor. This won't stop delivery, and may even be reparired by tomorrow, completely dependant upon the component manufacturer. No names mentioned.

Once I get it to the house I will do a full layout that really shows some of the nifty bells and whistles in a better light.

OK todays pics:

Tank holders for Scuba.

Going into the salon.

Hot pockets preparer.

Sat commo.

Leaning post.

Wish me luck sleeping tonight. Got all the Coast Guard gear lined up and ready to go.

I am a little upset that this is the end of the build... BUT, I am very excited for you and can't wait to see the detailed pics and performance numbers! Looking forward to seeing it in the water!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Man Detour. You are the man. Can I be your boat biatch? I will clean the boat 7 times a week. Clean all the fish and take care of anything you need. All I ask is one fishing trip every two weeks!

Seriously though. Your boat is so beautiful it makes me cry a little!

The only thing you need now is a bottle of Tylenol PM so you can sleep at night until you splash that beast!
