I had one of the first 265cc's to come out, picked up a used one about 3 yrs ago while awaiting our Intrepid to be built. Had the yam 225 4 strokes. having owned many boats, the Edgewater was pure joy. Mine was rigged to the hilt by original owner w/ radar, a.pilot, powdercoat everywhere, custom helm livewell set up and only had like 100 hours on it when I got it. bought it right, sold it right and not one hickup. Good fuel economy and will run on one motor in the low 30's if need to get home...we never did but we tested it at sea trial to find out. The only thing she lacked was in deck storage. We used a large cooler tied down on deck for fish and kept dry goods in the console and up under the front seats. If huge fish box capacity is a must, you may want to consider other hulls.
My friend ran a 27 contender and it rode a little better in a head sea especially because of the narrower entry to the 10' beem of the E.W. However, on the drift and roominess especially for bottom fishing aps, the E.W had much more space..especially in the stern area. So, I preferred it over the Contender for our use..
highly recommend the 265cc. Any questions, let me know...
