Thanks. I have the replacement pictured in your second link. I also just noted that you have a Stratos. Was looking at boats for sale today and saw a 20 Stratos CC that had been for sale earlier in the year. This boat looked really good with a deep hull clean lines. Others spoke really well of the quality of the Stratos. Would like your thoughts on your Stratos if so inclined. I learned from looking around that I can make a switch to a CC for a net small investment increase if I am patient. Also the steering cables ARE just oxidized and stiff in the runs. Replacement is the only option. As I said above on this thread I have already made the plunge to buy a Teleflex Baystar. I have some local stonington friends who live on the water as lobstermen and have strong feelings about boats. They encouraged me to retro to the hydraulic steering.

Stratos is a great boat, they are very well built, like a tank. I have been all over mine, everything is nut and bolted together, top of the line hardware etc. I love the one I have, when the time comes I will repower. OMC had Stratos and Hydrosport brands. They stopped making Stratos walkarounds when BRP took over OMC. If you are thinking of buying one you can't go wrong (provided it has been taken care of). If you have any specific questions I would be glad to answer them if I can.
