well seasiren I dod'nt really understand why you posted up a responce and then deleted it a day later, only to come up with an equally pathetic attempt at justifying your bloodlust on this matter. Oh I see you've deleted all your posts from this thread very interesting. It seems you reread everything and realized what I siad is true, but is'nt it interesting that you still feel like hiding behind your username. That is really no surprise or big deal for that matter as I never really expected you to "nut up" for obvious reasons. But as for you sailor, now that your first mate has jumped ship. I find that to use the username "sailor" implies that you are one. So it does surprise me that you have continued to hide behind yours, I have two brothers that have fished many seasons in Alaska as well as crabbed here along the Oregon coast with good friends of mine Ron and Wes Kellow. I only drop those names to ad legitamacy to the fact that none of the sailors or fisherman I know or have met would call a man(Andy) out as you have without looking him in the eye while doing it. So again I await your responce and name.
Well nothing Rudmover, I deleted my threads for certain reasons which you had nothing to do with, Not at all!!! You know nothing about the truth of Andy and Debbie. I ask again, why did they pack up everything, leave their house, the shop, their family and move away? Why didnt they stay around and face the music? Is it because there might be some truth to what people are saying? As for nutting up, why dont you ask Andy to tell you the truth? Why did four boats leave the yard unfinished? What happened to the clients money they paid Andy? The truth will come out, and you will be eating crow, and I will happily be shoveling it in your mouth! As for Sailor, how can you possibly be upset with him? He is only telling his story what transpired between he and Andy. Dont you think he has a right to be angry that he almost got swindled? He would have paid Andy for the boat and never got it. He would have lost alot of money!!! How can you be angry over that! The man was going to be out $125k. All I can say, I dont have bloodlust for those two, but they do deserve whats coming, and it wont hurt me in the least to them come down! I'm also not concerned with you guys having your opinions or even stating them. what I'm concerning myself with is people putting there money where their mouth is so to speak. You are referring to his posts, not to the spoken word, so the term you are looking for is libel. And if what he's posted is true, then it isn't libel (or slander).
You've accused him of lying. Do you have direct knowledge of the situation at Maxweld? Apparently he has had direct dealings with Maxweld.

I never called anyone a liar, I said, if you will read my posts that I don't believe that all what has been siad about Andy is true. That does not mean that Sailor or Seasiren or anyone else here have lied just that I don't believe that they have been told the Hull truth necesarily anymore than I have. what I am doing is trying to put faces to the voices that are spreading one side of a story that is'nt even theirs to tell. Its unlikly that anyone that has a case against Andy is going to come on here and tell their story. Its even more unlikly that anything they tell sailor or anyone is going to sound like anything Andy has told me or anyone else.So my whole point is that if your going to preach the "facts" of a story from the third person perpective then does'nt it seem fair and reasonable that the accused knows who you are not just what your saying.
the court of public opinion already has Debbie and Andy guilty, but of exactly what. I've heard fraud, embezlement, outright theft lying cheating you name it but as far as I know all these terms could easily be explained by bad business a crumbling economy people not holding up to thier end of thier contracts and until the courts decipher all the truths from the untruths I choose to give the benifit of the doubt to the accused. This may be an unamerican stance these days but call it what you will at least I'm not hiding in the dark casting someone else's stones.

I side tie to maxweld boats all the time they are tanks.
The ones I know the best are older monohulls, but there is a really nice maxcat running around my area too - looks great.

To me it is slander untill I have heard both sides of the story. It took years for Maxwell to become one of the most respected builders in the industry, and in one thread, we are gonna spread the one sided word that he's a scumbag?
Sounds like he was working on 2-3 large boats at the same time with probably a 25% deposit.
If one person didn't pay on time, or if his bank folded or refused to continue financing the operation, he would be out of money in no time, unable to finish. This has happened to a lot of small businesses lately, and since Andy has finished a lot of hulls, I can't believe we just wanted to stop and not get paid when he had his own time and money invested in the same mrchandise and plant.
So I for one would like to get the other side of the story and will hold to my belief that folks are inncent untill proven guilty.
A one sided rant on the internet by someone who has no direct involvement is an anonomous kangaroo court in my opinion, and if there is a suit, the paties involved can't really tell the real story until that hearing is over.
Wow...Now here's a healthy discussion. Way to go Rudmover! You can spout off all you want at me or seasiren, but the bottom line is that Maxweld tried to pry a deposit out of me right up until the day that they were closing their doors. Believe what you need to believe pal, but the truth will be told and they will pay for what they have done to their client's and vendors. This isn't a simple case of running out of money. They were out of money and knew, that they couldn't even come close to paying their suppliers or finishing the boats that they had in their yard and yet, with absolutely NO CONSCIENCE continued to try to milk people out of deposits to float their own boat. I never called them scumbags, you coined that phrase in your post, but I must agree with your description....they're scumbags.
Hey Rudmover, why doesn't Andy get on here and explain himself? That would make for an interesting discussion. Maybe, he can explain how he intended to take my deposit and build me a $350,000.00 boat. Now how would he have managed, with everything coming down around him, to proceed to build and deliver that boat? Maybe you, with all of your infinite wisdom, might take a stab at explaining that one.

why don't you pick up the phone like i did, and speak to all the people who have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in their dealings with your girlfriends brother and his wife? Then you'll have a better idea of what is really going on here and maybe you'll refrain from spouting off like you really know what you're talikng about...when really you don't.
Just so you know, sites like this are meant for people to have discussions. In the case of the hull truth, the discussions are about boats. Maxweld was a very highly regarded boat builder who, for whatever reason went out of business. This forum allows us to discuss that subject matter openly and with anonymity. We can only hope, that most of us are mature and civil enough not to fabricate stories about unfortunate situations that happen to people. With regard to my posts, i had first hand knowledge due to my dealings with maxweld and i also contacted numerous, if not all of the people who were taken advantage of. In every case, these people who had never met nor spoken to each other had the same exact story.
I can attest to the fact that he Andy also screwed me over on my Maxweld.I also know of three other Maxweld boat owners who have also been screwed over.I know he is your brother in law but have you bought a boat from him? My boat is built very well but it still has a few flaws which could have been fixed at the beginning but Andy refused.I also know of boats that have set in his yard for warranty work for all winter and the work was never done.It does not matter who we all are the fact is Andy has screwed some people over and it will not go away.I also know he likes to fight and and would love to have our names.He will know who we all are soon enough in court.
I think I've got to more or less go with Sailor on his last post. I mean, If Andy and Maxweld had done the right thing, this thread may not even be here. Rudmover- you are passionate, but perhaps somewhat Jaded. The facts are the facts, and it will all sort itself out in the end. As Sailor said, it's a discussion, and in this case, based on some (at least) first hand knowledge. There is allot going on here as it efects many lives. I doubt Andy is going to post.

Are you serious they have lost there entire lifes work. Maybe its thier own fault. but what you are doing sailor is as chiken shit as I've seen even if everything you say is true becouse you are hiding behind your computer. End of story as far as I'm cocerned. your right about this being a forum for discussion but honestly what your doing would be better suited for a blog as you seem to fancy yourself an investgative reporter but on a blog people would at least know who the hell you are and that is what validates what a man has to say in my book. as far as me spouting off what am I saying that you object to? don't like being called a coward then try not acting like one
