Default 2007 Hydra-Sports 2500CC Vector questions

Well my new boat finally arrived here in Md. Someone at the dealership left one of the battery switches in the on position. Now, one of the batteries is too low to start one of the motors.
Does the boat come with a built in battery charger standard or is that an option?
The boat has four batteries which battery is used to start which engine?
Is there a quick and or easy way to charge just the battery that is low?
There is a navigation lamp that is mounted at the back of the T Top (on about a 2 feet mast). How does one chage the bulb in it
One last thing, I found a brochure for a ProMariner 3 Step marine battery charger. Where might it be mounted? I have not seen it inside the console.

Thanks

I have the same boat, 2005 model. First off, the batteries are arranged from left to right as the first two being port starting the second two being starboard starting / house battery. So when you are looking at the batteries from LEFT to RIGHT the switches will be: first battery, left switch set to 1, second battery, left switch set to two, third battery, right switch set to one, fourth battery, right switch set to two. Battery charger must be optional as I do not have one on my boat but am considering adding one soon. To charge the low battery, set all battery switches to off, and simply connect your charger to the low battery.

The nav lamp should have a twist off cover. I believe the lens case simply screws off and will expose your bulb.

If your boat does have a promariner charger it would likely be mounted above the batteries out of view. You can either remove the plate that holds the two switches and look back there (be careful to not touch the battery leads and only remove the screws on the outside rim of the plate, not the ones in the middle as these hold the switches in place) or you could maybe use a mirror to look above the batteries at the space that is up there. You are looking for something along these lines http://promariner.com/productFeature...oductNum=51015

Hope this helps, enjoy the new ride, they are a very solid boat!

New boat??? If someone left the batt switch on and it killed a batt there is a drain somewhere that shouldn't be...

If a new batt was completely drained dead it should be replaced...period...but the reason why it was dead should be found before you pay for the boat...

And dealers say new boats don't need to be surveyed...lol...

The boat was surveyed and it started fine. The switch was left in the on position on 08/20/09. Thanks for the help.

If you can, have the dealer replace that battery. If a battery sits around in a discharged state, it will sulfate and it will never again take a full charge. The battery may fail completely in a year or two. If you have the option, get the dealer to make it right.

In Hydras:

-The charger will be connected to the batteries regardless of on/off switch position.

-Check your battery types. Hydra uses all starting batteries, which will not tolerate discharges well, and are useless for house loads when engines are off. The 4 battery setup is not better than 2 batteries, just adds more weight. Change your setup to a 3 bank setup instead of dual 2 bank, or change the "house" switch batteries to dual purpose.

-One battery will always be on for powering the bilge pump float switch and engine gauge and radio memory.

They owe you a battery and ask them about the other stuff - that's why the dealer is there. BTW the next guy buy a boat from them will be getting your battery..

Best of Luck - Nice Rig - enjoy the ride!!!
