Default looking for suggestions

Can anyone suggest a decent way to deal with the anchor chain and the anchor itself. I ended up having to wrap it with a towell so it wouldnt destroy the deck on wave impact.

Maybe cover a small area with a piece of the nonskid tape. Probably look ugly though, or the same idea with a piece of 1/4 " thick starboard. You could also swap out the galv chain for a polymer coated one, easier to clean the mud off of and won't beat up the deck as much. Goodluck

Add a hook or shackle at the end of the chain where it meets the anchor. Tie a 3'-4' piece of 3/8" nylon to the anchor. When you pull up the anchor tie it off tight with the short piece of line and unhook and store the chain in the locker.
Or, as Jamesb said;
Remove all the bow hardware, cut a piece of 1/8"-1/4" starboard to cover the bow area around the anchor roller, deck pipe and cleats and reinstall the hardware.

Do you have the anchor mounted upside down?* Why not like this?* * * Notice the chain/rode is tied off with a small length of rope to a cleat.* The rope*goes down with the anchor.* That way I know where it is when the anchor comes up. *

I have it upside down so I can snag anyone flying off the front from a wave impact.
Actually it's because the flukes have a tendency to grab the bow roller on the trailer backing off.

I have the chain grabbed by a chain stop, and also zip tied to the cleat so it doesnt try and
wander off while we are moving. I'll try and get a pic looking down at it this evening.

I have the same boat. I just put two small bungees with stainless hooks on them from the anchor back to the cleat. It stops the anchor from flopping around and my chain is plastic coated so it doesn't mess up the pulpit.

Try an anchor tensioner like this. Keeps everything tight and easy to use.
