Default Northcoast 24' repower

Almost done with my '88 Northcoast repower and redo, all that is left is to put on the numbers and try it, hopefully this week. Very curious to see how it performs, I have 17" Mercury Mirage Plus props and a spare set of 19" Yamaha SS props, I think the 17s will be best.
Took about a year of working at night after dinner off and on.
Here is a list of what I did,
Removed '88 Yamaha 150s, replaced with '05 Yamaha F150s with 270 hours, rewired with '05 gauges and harness'
New fuel fuel lines and SS fuel filter heads with Yamaha fuel managment sensors.
Replaced all plastic through hulls with SS.
Replaced all ball valves.
Replaced all pumps: 2 bildge pumps, wash down pump, circulator pump for live well, pump to empty livewell. macerator for fish box.
Replaced old electronics with Raymarine A65 and Icom VHF, Digital antenna and Digital 4' extension for GPS antenna.
Ran separate bus for electronics.
Replaced several switches, Cole Hersee, most were still good.
Replaced all teak trim in cockpit with Starboard.
Replaced seats.
Removed teak and holley plywood floor in cabin, buffed gelcoat that was under it and made new access hatch from Starboard.
Lots of new SS hardware, wire and connectors.
A lot of cleaning.

I am surprised it took so long but I was not in any rush and finding the parts and making all the Starboard trim took a while.

Mac, the boat looks great. Is the Mirage a 15" diameter prop? That might work out ok. The Yamaha Reliance Series 13.75" X 19 is probably a nice option too, but may be pricey.

Thanks, the Mirage Plus props are 15.5" diameter. Not sure on the Yamahas, they are the black SS props. From the Yamaha performance tests I have read for similar size and weight boats the 17" pitch props should be a good match, but I do not know if there is much of a difference between the Yamaha SS 17" pitch props that are used in the tests and the Mercury Mirage Plus props with the same pitch.
This is an example I looked at, http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/p...-t-f150txr.pdf

Put it in today and ran it, everything worked great, I did not get too much time to run wide open but so far 5500rpm at 43mph, great holeshot, jumps right up on plane. Hopefully get out a couple more times before the end of the season.
Sit nice and high in the water I was concerned the added weight of the 4 strokes would make it sit low in the stern but it seemed to make no difference.

Yeah it was nice, but I forgot how much I hate waiting for those two bridges, the bridge operators act like it is really work for them to swing the bridge, last time I launch there, Winter Island from now on.

Ran it for quite a while this weekend, performs great, sweet spot is 3500rpm, 27mph, right at 12gph total, about 2.25mpg. The boat really handles the slop well, nice and dry and smooth, very pleased with the repower.

The boat looks great. If you want ideas you need to check out the Northcoast in Ryders Cove. It was redone over two years with twin 150 Hondas and a very nice new hard top with enclosure, outriggers and a full electronics package. It's the best looking top I've seen on a Northcoast.

Thanks for sharing. I love the boat

Is that boat for sale by any chance? Where is Ryders Cove?
I want to add a top to my boat, do you know who built it?

I don't think it's for sale. Ryders Cove is off rt.28 in Chatham near Pleasant Bay. I'll look next time I'm near the boat to see if there is a sticker to identify who fabricated the top.
