Default Mako Restore

hey guys,

im relatively new to this site and was hoping some of the knowledgeable members could help point me in the right direction with this. i've got an 1982 mako 20b that i really want to make my first project. it is actually in good shape and has a strong transom and everything. there are a bunch of things i want to do to it and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on where to learn about doing minor body work, replacing bowrail, etc... classicmako.com is currently down but they have been great in the past for info. any and all suggestions are welcome and thanks so much for the help. if anybody is interested in seeing the boat lemme know and i'd be glad to post some pics

1) Download and read the System3 manual
2) Get the WestSystem manual and read it (west marine)
3) also read the forums on the sites for the other classics like classicseacraft.com, classicaquasport.com, and continuouswave. Do actually read the old posts before posting basic stuff that has already been asked a million times. The problem is that there is so much to read it could take months.
4) you might say where you are from and there might be others doing restorations in your area that you could join forces with. Mine has been ongoing for years...

good luck
