I really like the 275 Explorer. When I go to Boat shows I come home thinking my boat still has the best layout in that size class.
I am looking for something bigger.

The cabins in the Tiara and Rampage are almost identical. Both are great boats, I looked and compared them closely last year before buying my Rampage. The main difference I found was in the cockpit. The Rampage is setup more for hardcore fishing with less comfy/cushy cushioned cockpit seating, but MUCH more cockpit fishing space as well as rigging space/tacle storage. The Tiara on the other hand obviously had more seating in the cockpit, and less fishing and tackle space. I think the Rampage has less things on it to break when in rough seas offshore, while the Tiara was built for more inshore cruising. But both were similar quality, well built boats.

I selected the Rampage mainly because I thought it would hold up better on the few Canyon runs I make each season. If I ever stopped fishing offshore, and did more cruising, I'd strongly consider a Tiara. One other difference, the Tiara were PRICEY!!

Good luck.

Tiara's are great boats. The quality, workmanship and detail of the boat are superb. I have operated a 3100 with twin 350 crusaders in the ocean and I can't say enough good things about how well it handled. Tiara makes a quality and pricey boat. If you like the 3100, you should try a 40 ft Tiara fly bridge. I operated a friends in Long Island Sound and that was also one of the best handling boat I have had the pleasure to run. This boat also had twin 350 crusaders and at 3200 RPM's it was cruising. If you want inboards and can afford a Tiara, it's an easy decision to buy it.

Another vote for the 3100 Tiara. Mine is a '86. I have a wife and 2 boys (7 and 4). It is a great family boat. Here on the great lakes they don't stay on the market too long--well, maybe now they do, but not as long as some others their size.
