Default What 4th of July is all about!!

I had a chance to take a couple of great guys, Jeff and Nick, fishing who are heading out on their 2nd tour of duty to Iraq this Saturday (Nick, also has been to Afganistan) leaving behind family and friends. Jeff just had a baby girl 3 weeks ago and has to leave for a year, amazing sacrifice.

We only had a couple hours to fish, and were in the Bonitas the whole time with the exception of a couple of Kings that burned up the reels. Jeff and Nick could care less in what they caught, they were leaving and did not want to keep any fish, they just wanted to pull on a rod.

God bless both these guys and all our service men and woman for what they do for us...here are a few pics:

Someone got sharked!!:

My son, great firstmate with his king catch:

Can't say any more then already has been said.

One question....what happened to that one fish(missing a part of it)?

Shark ate it. The same shark keept swimming around 10 ft under the boat (looked like a 5ft-6ft blacktip) as if he was waiting for us to throw the remainder of the fish, when we did, the shark waited until the carcass sank down 10 ft or so and then he devoured it. Pretty cool.

Nice of everyone to acknowledge these guys. One of these guys, Jeff (he has the newborn) does transport. When he told me that I got real anxious for him, I can only pray he stays safe and clear from the dangers of doing transport in Iraq.
