Default Trim Sender location

I just bought a new Trim/Tilt gauge for my boat. Can someone tell me where to find the Trim Sender wire?

My boat has Trim/Tilt control, but did not previously have a gauge.

Which wire? Behind the dash? There is a purple/white lead for the S terminal. The engine end is brown/white. The drive end looks like a "lamp cord".

Easiest Way, follow the cables from the trim pump back to the transom, they come trough the same port....

We'll I tried both sets of black wires (lamp cord style) coming from my transom in the engine bay, but neither were what I expected.

I expected to measure a resistance on the two wires that varied between 30-240 ohms as I moved the trim up & down. Instead I measured a varying voltage levels that didn't make much sense to me.

180 ohms IIRC. The other is on-off switch for the limit. Most all of those sensors are bad. They did not last long. Sux. that you have to take out the U-Joint bellows to replace it.
