RE: Home-made...lets see some other home-made stuff!.
Here's what I added to my Parker 25' Sport Cabin:
Custom teak/mahogany galley with 2-burner propane stove and freshwater supply to the sink in a : Cost = $100 materials, less stove ($125), sink ($30), drawer knobs ($7 each) but plenty of design and labor time !
Home-made Radar Mount: Bought a new helm seat base at a sportsmen's flea market for $25, added a 3" solid aluminum plug into the top, cut both at a 4-degree "down bubble" towards the bow, added a starboard top from the scrap pile, plus a rubber grommet into the rear of the tube for the cable. Cost = $30 tops
Custom Pulpit: Just added this season ... after last Fall's collision where an errant boat hit mine while on the mooring, not 2 days before pulling her for the season : Cost = $300 materials and labor (biscuit & epoxy construction) to have it made to my design ... full-size plans available to anyone that wants it. The 8" 3/8 316 SS bolts were $8 each ... had to order them from Washington State
Home-made Toe Rails: Cost = My design and labor, just $20 for the mahogany stock
Home-made Custom Dash Switch Panel with backlighting and integrated Bennett trim tab switch: Cost = My design and labor, just one piece of 1/4" thick CPG Seaboard and some black spraypaint

RE: Home-made...lets see some other home-made stuff!.
Here's a simple Rocket Launcher I made a while back. I had the hunk of Walnut from some timber I had sawn some years ago so I simply went to a friends and planed a chunk, drew up a template on heavy paper, like it, so I cut out the wood. I already had all of the hardware but it would have gone like this, the cheap rod holders cost about $15 each. The Pedistal and seat bracket would probably cost $40. I made up the little hookholders under each side from scrap aluminum, the Gimbol, that is really more for show than any really useful purpose would run you around $25 I suppose. Nuts, bolts, and finish, maybe another $15. I like it for holding rods when trolling if there are just two of us on the boat.

Hi Shoes..
Good to see another person from Maine - nice skiff.* Where'd you get the plans - looks like it could be welded out of plate alloy.
You did a great job!

Man, some of you fellas a pretty talented! I have ideas that I would like to attempt to fabricate, but I doubt that mine would look as good as some of yours..
