Mc Carthy and the NJ boating accident

The paper said Ed Mc carthy was on the 30 ft Whaler along with John --

Is this Ed Mc Carthy from Mc Carthy's marine? And would John be " big John"

Ed is not some wild and crazy person ---so I am sure it was somewhat unavoidable.

Tough to live with something like this.

Yes, it was that very same Ed McCarthy.

This accident is eerily reminiscent of the one which Brad Gorman from Ocean Beach Marina was involved in, 17 or 18 years ago. It was almost the same scenario. Brad was piloting a larger boat at or around sunset, and had a 17-foot whaler run into him, at speed. IIRC, that collison resulted in at least one fatality. Even though Brad was later found innocent of any wrongdoing, the accident haunted him until his untimely death a few years later.

WOW. I heard about this yesterday and just read the article. I slip at McCarthy's and bought a boat from Ed last fall. Really great guy...so sorry to hear about all this.
