Default Ocean Master Vs. Palmetto

Looking at buying a new boat and I seen 2 boats. A 27 ocean master with twin 225 Opti's for 28k and a 23 (I think) palmetto with a 225 yammi fourstroke for 29k. Both have brackets.

I am just wondering if anyone here has any details of the two boats. Ride, seed, fuel, all that. I have heard that the ocean master is a beast of a boat and is amazingly built. I have not heard a lot on the palmetto and never knew that they built a 23, only 33's.

Any commentary from you guys would really be appreciated.

Have you read the testimonials on the Ocean Master website?

I've got a 23 Palmetto. It's built like a tank, when we drilled the hole for a 1kw transducer I measured the piece cut out. 1 3/4 inches thick. I've got twin 150 HPDIs on mine and think a 225 might be underpowered.

It rides pretty good but doesn't have the deadrise of a Contender so if it gets sloppy I have to slow down. I got caught in a thunderstorm last year on an overnight trip with 6 footers and wasn't ever scared of the waves. We hung close to a rig for a lightning rod. I get around 2 MPG at a cruise of around 28 kts.

Both have the same beam. Can only speak for a 31 OM and the thing is a tank. W/ 2 storkes they burn alot of fuel, I would think the same for a 27
