Thanks. That diagram helps lots and kinda surprises me too. Appears that most of the wood is small sections, perhaps used for backings? Looks like the transom and other stress bearing locations are wood free.. ?

Most of it is Whaler board which is a type of phenolic material which can hold machine screws and is pretty tough stuff, the transoms are marine plyboard. Whaler has never had a problem with a wet transom as they are fully encapsulated.

Thanks. I've sent an email to Chuck (thanks FASTFJR). Evidently there is alot more wood that I would have thought. Looking at the diagram, to me it doesn't appear that the Dauntless has a wooden transom.. Am I missing something?
