Lightbulb 1998 115 hp Johnson - Voltage Regulator

I have a rebuilt 1998 115hp Johnson in need of a voltage regulator. The model number is J115TSLECM.

So what i've gotten from this is Johnson, 115hp, T (trim & tilt electric start), S (Sail, Special Styling). EC (1998), M (manufacturer).

What I can't figure out is, is this a 60 degree v4? I need to replace the voltage regulator and it seems to be specific to a 60 degree or not.

Also any info on where to purchase a new wiring harness would be great.

60 degree motors are covered by plastic and you cannot see the flywheel. 90 degree motors have and exposed flywheel and no plastic covers over the flywheel and pack. Now just by looking you know if you have a 60 degree or 90 degree.

That being said.....by your model number you have a 90 degree cross flow. Your rectifier is a little round thing on the side part number 583408 The TSL you have uses that one. The TSX version (x-long shaft) uses a water cooled one on the top of the motor.

Great thank you so much! That makes life a lot easier. I'll let you know what the outcome of the voltage regulator is. That link is great with part #'s for every piece imaginable on a johnson/evinrude.

One last question. Do you know the part # or where I could find a new wiring harness for my 98 johnson. I've found a few but I want to make sure they have trim & tilt in them.
