Default ABS plastic restoration

I have a friend that has a small boat that is made of ABS plastic and he asked me if I knew what he could use to restore the finish. I couldnt give him an honest answer because I am not sure if regular compounds and waxes are recomended for plastic. I told him I would ask around.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

I really can't speak for sure, but, if the boat is a Logic, now called Triumph, waxes or polish are not needed or recommended by the manufacturer. I can only speak of my own Triumph, and I can say all we use is a pressure washer to keep her clean. She still looks like new, at least to my eyes. If I wanted more of a shine, then I might try a buffing wheel. The heat generated will help the plastic shine more, but use care because too much heat may not be good.

Again, being on any boat in the water sure beats standing on dry land.
