What can yall tell me about these boats? How is construction and durability? Wood in transom?

Looking at a 2000cc. Thanks for your input.

I just bought a '95 Bluewater 2000CC... right here off THT!

I specifically sought out this hull - my buddy and fellow THTer ChemGuy has the Bluewater 2250 version, and the thing is an absolute beast. It's a really good fit for our fishing conditions up here on the Cape.

I was so impressed with his that I put it on my short list when it came time for me to upgrade. When one popped up here for sale, I jumped on it.

I drove down to SC and dragged it back to Cape Cod, where it's been sitting covered ever since. I've done some preliminary work on it and on dry land, it's everything I had hoped for and more. I can't wait to splash it.

It has nice deadrise, a workable layout, tons of storage, significant freeboard, and solid construction.

Have a look at ChemGuy's transom/bracket project on our local site:

Click the link in my profile for a lame attempt at documenting the progress of my Stratos refurb.

Good luck, and feel free to PM me if I can help in any way.

His hull is a '92 and it doesn't really have a transom issue - he opted to repower with a bracket and it just makes good sense to replace the core on a 17-year-old transom if you're going to make those kinds of modifications. Kevin is a smart dude.

As for my transom, it seems pretty solid from what I could see, but if I have to replace it down the road, I'm totally fine with that. It's a worthy hull...

What I like about it is exactly what I listed in my previous post - deadrise, freeboard, storage, reasonable cost, and it's built like a brick $hithouse.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Got any pics/info about the rig you're looking at? Specs, pricing, etc?

Good luck!
