Default Saltaway, Salt-X, Salt Terminator

I know there are some topics out there on this but most appear to focus on flushing with these products. I'll be dry storing a boat and it's not as easy to cleanup as you normally could if trailering. Are these products useful/effective in removing the salt from the outboard bracket, trim motor units, etc.? Since it's not convenient to clean those parts as you normally would at your house with the boat on a trailer I'd like to find something effective at removing the salt quickly prior to storing it. Are these products harmful to anything (ie. certain metals, gelcoat, etc.)? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I use salt away. But I don't know how it will work just wiping it on. It can be bought as a kit with a hose applicator that leaves no salt residue if used properly. I use it in a spray bottle on fishing gear as well.
I would like to see if salt terminator is as good, as it is cheaper!
Hope to see some other posts...

Triumphrick, thx for the reply. Let me clarify... I do mean using it through the hose applicator as prescribed by the mfg and not wiping on or spraying on full strength or anything else.

Yes, all of those products work wonders on greasy salt.

I use Salt Away and it gets the boat clean and spot free if you promptly wipe it all down when done.

I also use a good soft squeegee on a pole!

The hull dries without a lot of spotting, I also use a spot free water softener.

I learned this little trick from forum member jdber94. Get yourself a garden "Dial a sprayer" and fill it 1/3 water, 1/3 automotive soap (I use cheap blue coral with wax in it) and 1/3 Salt Away (or similar). I set the dial to where I start to get some good suds when spraying ( I think it 4oz or 4 tble spoons) and it has cut my brushing considerably. I really dont have to brush the sides of the boat now and I dont get salt residue after it dries. Vinegar also works well in place of the salt removing product. You have to shake up the sprayer before using it as the ingredients will seperate. Easy peasy!

Have you tried letting it air dry since you are using the water softener?
