Yamaha F150 Warning Lights As part of the F150 electrical harness, there is a four pin connector in the lower front cowl that has two pink/black wires, one pink/white wire and one pink wire. The rigging guide calls for the oil/trim harness to be plugged into this connector and there is a two wire harness plugged into mine.
The pink/white wire goes to a red/green wire, and one of the pink/black wires goes to a green wire. These two wires are terminated under my helm, going nowhere.
The rigging guide calls out the pink/white as overheat warning, and the pink/black as low oil pressure warning.
An ohm meter applied to either green or green/red under the helm gives the following result. With key off, both show no voltage and infinite resistance to ground. At key on, the resistance to ground falls to 23 ohms for 3 seconds and then goes back to infinite. There is no voltage on either wire at key on.
This sounds like warning light test at key on. If someone with Yamaha Techical knowledge can confirm that the ECM asserts ground at key on to test the lights for overheat and low oil pressure, I can take it from there.
