Identifying Yamaha Year Model?

I bought a 1990 Wellcraft Coastal with twin Yami 115's (Model 115EXTF) on a bracket. The previous owner, the father of a good friend of mine, bought the boat 6 years ago and is not sure if the motors were factory equipped. I suspect may not be since the Wellcraft Specifications for this year model do not list any Yami's as an option and the mounting of the remote throttle/shifter doesn't appear factory. Therefore, I'm wanting to know exactly what year model the motors are.

Is anyone aware of a website that will take the serial number or build code of the motors to determine the year model? The only stamp on the motors indicates the Model Number, Serial Number, and Build Number but no date.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Go to Yamaha's web site and give the customer service center in Kennesaw, GA a call. I'd bet they can give you a year based on the serial number.

I went to this site as well but it didn't quite have a complete set of codes for my model number. I just now went to Yamaha's site and this model was listed in the Parts Catalog under the 1989 and 1990 year model. So I guess that gives me a good idea.
