Default Dual Station Controls question (KE-4)

I have a Pilothouse style boat that has dual steering stations. The front Helm is to Starboard and the Rear is on the Port side.

Currently the rear station does not have any throttle controls back there. Its just the steering wheel

So the question is, What is the best option??

The boat is powered by a 07 F250 yamaha (cable throttle) with the 703 Single Binnacle. Ive been told that doing a second 703 in the back isnt an option since the Steering is on opposite sides of the boat... Is this true?

So, the best option Ive been able to come up with so far would be the Morse KE-4 controls.

Does anyone have good or bad things to say about this control?
Or any other options??

Default Re: Dual Station Controls question (KE-4)

I built a 25' Downeast boat and had 2 stations, a forward helm and a rear tiller with controls. We used the KE4s for both stations. Boat had a 240hp Yanmar. They were easy to install, performed without a hitch and the cool thing is you are able to isolate each control, turn off each and set each with limiters. The rear controls for the tiller were set so a full throw of the handle was only 1/4 throttle. You should check with one of the builders that use them for the tower boats such as Gause, Shaeffer, Aeon and Dorado.

you can do the yamaha dual station single engine application it will probably run around 3K for the system. You can do the cables with the yamaha system but both binnacle would have to go to the same location to plug into the control boxes that come with the yamaha system. You can even run the back ones forward if you wanted to put the control boxes in the pilot house. I just did this with a parker. But i put a tower on and put the control boxes behind the bench seat on the starboard side. You can also mount them in the transom compartment if you have room. If you go with the KE 4 system it will probably cost a little more than the yamaha system and you will have the same issue of having to mount the control boxes somewhere but you wont have to worry about running cables from the binnacles to the boxes since its all electronic. However you will still have cables going back to the engines. Just depends on if you want to spend the money and replace with all electronic or leave the yamahs stuff. If you switch to the KE 4 youll have to get a separate tilt and trim panel along with start and stop. That all is included with the yamaha set up. Yamaha is not that hard to set up just time consuming making sure its calibrated correctly. Biggest question is going to be space and location for you it seems because you dont want to start making tight turns with your cables.
