Default External Steering Linkage

I have a Trophy 2052 with an Alpha 1 leg and a 8HP Honda kicker (which I use for 90% of my fishing) I normally run the kicker from a seat mounted on the transom.

Recent back surgery is going to make this configuration difficult to run.

Does anyone have any experience with the stainless coupler rods that I see on a lot of boats on the West Coast? They have a quick disconnect to both the kicker and the main drive leg, so that the kicker can be steeered from the main helm. I'm wondering if the small motor can be raised with the bar attached (when travelling from one area to another). Any experience and / or manufacturers would be appreciated.

There are two versions of this kit where you can connect the main motor to your kicker for steering.
First version is mounted on the rear of the motors. Second version is mounted in the front of the motors.
I made my own version by purchasing a stainless steel threaded rod and two quick disconnects. Works good, but you must disconnect it if your tilting up the motor.

Thank you for the link to EZSTEER. This is the method that will work for me as there is no way to connect from the front as the Alpha 1 is an outdrive. Their website answers all of my questions and I have contacted them for Dealer information.
