Mans will certainly not be the cheapest to maintain.........................Personally on a boat that big I would also opt for the FB model. (10 times the inside room and still the same size cockpit).............I have been on several 42 expresses and they just seem huge...........From the helm to the cockpit seems like a 2 minute walk! Boattest.com has a nice review and video............

When al else fails call the factory in Bayville NJ and ask to speak with Manny...............In fact, go there if you can.......

Also a biased user here... The hull, hardware and fittings are all top notch. I have the 38 hull, and can tell you that it is one of the softest rides that I have ever been on. The boat is very dry in anything less than 5-6' waves, and with that, its still the wind blown spray that gets you. I would agree with getting the FB model as well. Henriques does not rig their boats with a full tuna tower, so the visibility from the marlin tower vs. the FB is equal. That being said, the ride in the FB will be much more comfortable than the tower will, plus you get the added interior volume, and the cockpit is rigged with controls as well. I can't say enough about my boat, I know that everyone loves their boats, but I really love my boat. Its just so solid and so well designed. I have a full sized chair in my cockpit, and with that, I can have 4 guys across the transom with no problems!!

The 42' Express is one of the nicest boats I've ever fished on. I am partial to express boats, just like being on the same level as the action. It is top notch as far as construction goes. The Man 800's are good engines, but hugely expensive to maintain. If you are buying new, I likely would sacrafice the 1-1.5 kts on the top end and go with the C-12's, which will be less than 1/2 the price to maintain and repair going down the road.

I stand corrected - I'm just a little out of touch - gorgeous boat - all it takes is dollar and a dream for me
