I'm not sure why the link does not work. I copied the url and pasted it in the post. It works on my machine.
I know you would find this 118', 60MPH, gas turbin, carbon fiber and titanium thing worth the look.
Any ideas on how to post it properly?
Thanks,
Ken
was launched in 2004 really. so it is a bit old now, and only was built so far
go to www.wally.com and see the latest 64 in the range. launched in 2008 brilliant too
they have sold a few of these and I think to remember they will deliver 3 of these in 2009
Ar those the air intakes on the side? If so,I hope there's some baffling or I see a major problem with water intrusion/ingestion in this boat's future. Run that thing in a relatively big sea and they'll be sucking alot of water into the engine compartment
When I put my money down to have the Wally Power 118 built, I thought the price of 16.7 Million USD was very reasonable for the full carbon fibre hull and stealthy looks. The addition of the three GE turbine's and two Cat's as displacement speed backup was the way to go.. But WOW when I put the hammer down, and I am making way across the Atlantic at the clip of 68 Knots, it sure sucks the K1 down FAST! *Shrugs* it's only money.... I can get a full tank of K1 right now for roughly $20K USD.

Those are the Air Intake Nacelles for the 3 GE jet turbines. This boat also terminates in Jet Drives and can run in relatively skinny water! I am sure in bad seas you can damper off the Nacelles and run off the twin Diesels.

There must be a way to keep the water out. Maybe they are open in the back and the water runs through with the air being sucked in from the inside near the top.
Here's another question - what do they do when they have a side tie at the dock. Hard to imagine the perimeter of one of those vents holding the boat off the dock (with fenders of course). But it looks like that is all that would touch the dock
